I am very happy about this piece of work: this year my latest full length comic got released and it’s the first time adaption of the Three Investigators (very popular in Germany and here known as the three ???). I kind of grew up with this series as did many other in my and the following generations, so I am more than proud, that I was allowed to be responsible for three teenage detectives being picturized for the first time in 30 years.
The case of the three-eyed skull was written by author Ivar-Leon Menger and John Beckmann. It was a lot of fun to come up with the atmosphere for this case, for it's about a horror movie director who asks the three investigators for help. There's a horrorfilm museum, a rundown studio and a trailer park I had to draw, so I was able to put in a few dark undertones. While workingI got a lot of help from my friend Asja Wiegand, who lettered the whole book by hand. She did a terrific job and I can't thank her enough!
